In addition to his consulting work at ApplEcon, Dr. McCabe is an adjunct Associate Professor at the School of Information, University of Michigan. He has also taught courses at the University's Ross School of Business.

Dr. McCabe began his professional career in Washington, DC as an economist in the Antitrust Division at the US Department of Justice, and later moved to Atlanta as an Assistant Professor in the School of Economics at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He has taught courses on Industrial Organization, Antitrust and Regulation, Microeconomic Theory, and Information Economics. His research has been published in various scholarly journals, and has been supported by grants from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the NET Institute and the Open Society Institute.

Dr. McCabe's began consulting on antitrust matters after leaving the Department of Justice in 1998. His experience includes merger, price-fixing and monopolization cases in a variety of industries including chemicals, entertainment, health services, online advertising, publishing, software, and transportation. He is member of the State Center's Panel of Economists, which assists State Attorneys General in their enforcement of consumer protection and competition policy laws at the state level. Dr. McCabe is fluent in German.
